I thought that the ramp activity was a really fun way to spend class. We got to apply what we had been studying to a real-life situation. It was exciting to see the ball go into the cup and knew that you had done your math right. I also liked working in groups because it's more fun to work together and you can learn from eachother.
I really enjoyed the ramp experiment in class today. I didn't quite understand the concept and what we were supposed to do right away, and I wasn't really confident in my math because I was sure I had made some small error. I was really nervous about my group going first because what if we had messed up on the calculations? But I was really exciting when the ball went into the cup and I knew we had calculated correctly.
I thought that the ramp experience was very cool. after tough work to try to come up with the correct equation and make sure our math was right we were excited to try it. I was very nervous but when i saw the ball in the cup, it was awesome. i thought it was so interesting to be able to come up with an equation to measure the distance a ball will launch off and be able to land in a cup. it makes me see how launching something into space can be done with just a math equation. this definatley made math more fun and hopefully we willl be able to do something else like this sometime.
I remember the ramp activity from physics last year. The fact that I still had to use the equation to find my possible distance value, made me realize that the equations works but it isn't exactly universal: it works per situation. I thought I would find the equation easy but just like anything there was a process. I liked the activity, because it is always nice to see your work be paid off.
i thought the ramp experiment was the actual first time when i found my self using math in a real world situation. Because the activity was presented in front of others i found myself actually becoming nervous, and because of so i was glad to work in groups. I thought that this activity was a fun and entertaining break from a usual class day, and i look forward to other if any days like it.
The ramp activity was a great activity that made me very nervous right before the ball was let go to roll and then fall into the cup. I was impressed that the math worked so well and my group was able to make it in the cup on the first try. It was an awesome feeling. This math activity was one of the best activities i have ever done in math.
